There is a section about Judy Shinnick Art Studio’s popular art classes and workshops. In addition, I will include tips and techniques in all mediums.gathered over many years. I will also show some of my talented students’ wonderful work.
Lastly, it would be my pleasure to invite you into my galleries for a browse and I hope you’ll stay for a little while.
Maybe you might pick up a paintbrush too – I hope so. Come along and join me on this wonderful journey.

NEW BEGINNINGS -LET’S DO THIS!
Was there ever a New Year so anticipated and welcomed? It was great to wave goodbye to 2020 but this start to 2021 has still been challenging However, I have a plan. As artists though we have enough challenges at times but we'll rise to this one too. I was able...

about me
JUDY SHINNICK
Inspired to pick up a brush 30 years ago, my interest and skills have taken me from attending that first class in Ireland through training in Florence and eventually into a full-time career.
Regularly exhibiting my paintings are an important part of my work as is undertaking commissions. Catching those fleeting moments and trying to present reality as closely as possible is always a challenge. While working I’m continually asking myself ‘Can I paint warm skin? and what colour is the light behind the eyes?
Professional Development studies have broadened my experience as a teacher, coach, and mentor.and today I want to inspire and motivate other people to unlock their creative ideas and talent.
Follow me on the journey and perhaps you will pick up some brushes and paint. My popular oil and watercolour classes fill up quickly, therefore, I am designing some short sharp articles to reach those who can’t attend a workshop.

art classes and workshops

To understand the Methods of the Old Masters such as Rembrandt, Titian and Caravaggio can seem like a daunting task for many people. It felt like that to me too. However it depends on the teaching and although I am mostly self-taught, luck has played a huge part in my education and the influence of some wonderful teachers.
Today I want to give what I’ve learnt away.
I’ve produced a series of classes and workshops that can bring along painters from beginner to advanced level without some of the pain that is imagined. These pathways are aimed at everybody from those who want to paint at a level beyond the popular hobby courses to the leisure painter who just wants to create and escape for a while (we all need that).
Above all my approach instils confidence, skills and ambition while producing good results. These painting classes and workshops are for everyone. Past students are now building art careers of their own and I hope giving away their GIFT.
